Dirk Vander Kooij started to be a passionate creator since he was a teenager. He attended the Wood and Furniture College and later the Design Academy of Eindhoven, where he realized the stool ELEPHANT SKIN. Thanks to his oven “cooking” method, followed by a cooling phase, he earned the attention of Ingo Maurer, who offers to Dirk a period of apprenticeship at his studio in Monaco. In 2010 together with the achievement of the diploma he uses his technique to create tables (the Endless collection), showing them at Salone del Mobile. According to Dirk Vander Kooij the adjective that better defines his way of planning is “honest” because it’s based on the experimentation of a material that denounce its origin and because it’s shaped by a robot that creates in “transparency”!
