‹Return to Previous Page

The designer Hella Jongerius – Dutch school – is famous for her special method to mix industry and craft, high and low technology, tradition and modernity. In 1993 she founded her design factory, the Jongeriuslab, creating both independent projects and works commissioned by influential clients.

For Vitra, where she’s the Art Director, Hella planned something like the emblematic Polder Sofa or the Worker Chair.

Her works have been shown in different museums and galleries, such as the Design Museum of London, the Galerie Kreo of Paris and the Moss Gallery of New York. In 2009, the Jongeriuslab moved from Rotterdam to Berlin
