Born in Utrecht in 1980, she studies at the Design Academy of Eindhoven. Christien is a particular artist, that has extremely passionate about the origin of things and their several connections.
Her first project, the book entitled CHECKED BAGGAGE, collects around 3,000 pictures of objects seized during the security controls at the Schipol airport, intensified after the 11th of September 2001.
The designer is also known for her ability to use oversized knitting needles to create big-weave carpets and innovative puffs made of Merino wool, with neutral colours – beige, grey – and high colours – red, orange, green, blue.
